How did you know your dress was 'the one’?

I spent the entire day dress shopping in NYC with just my mom, and it was such a special, intimate experience. I really wanted to share that moment with her. We visited several shops, and by the time we reached Mark Ingram, I had tried on so many different styles. We loved many of them, but it was becoming difficult to decide. When I slipped into the Alena gown, I just knew — it was the one. Everything else couldn’t compare.

The floral lace and beaded de tails were so delicate, and the fit was incredibly comfortable and easy to move in — it hugged my body perfectly. One thing I wanted to add was a tulle skirt, so my mom and I envisioned a removable skirt with ruched sides. When we saw the final result, it was exactly what we had hoped for — it had the perfect balance of elegance and romance. I could totally picture myself walking down the aisle in it. We also added a supportive bodice, which created a beautiful silhouette under the lace.
In what way did the matching accessories bring your bridal vision to life alongside your gown?

The overskirt was everything! I took it off after our first dance, but it was such a unique addition to my look, making me feel incredibly special and elegant. I also added a headpiece, which ties everything together perfectly with the dress. A fun little detail: I used the extra tulle from my overskirt to create bows for the cans on our getaway car. It was such a sweet, personal touch that made it even more meaningful.
How did you start planning your wedding? What were the first steps?

The day after my husband and I got engaged, I immediately booked our wedding venue: The Bay Head Yacht Club. Bay Head holds such a special place in my heart — it’s my favorite place in the world. I knew I wanted to share that with our out-of-town guests and have our wedding in the town I grew up in, with
a coastal vibe.

Once the venue was secured, the next big decision was, of course, the dress! I ended up choosing mine during my birthday weekend in November, almost a full year before our wedding on October 18, 2024.
What did you feel when you tried on your custom gown for the first time?

When I tried on my custom gown for the first time, I was beyond excited! The fit was perfect — so fitted in all the right places, yet the lace was delicate and comfortable, so it felt light and easy to wear. I knew I could dance all night in it without any issues. It was everything I had hoped for and more. I was so comfortable in the dress that I didn’t even feel the need to change into my afterparty dress right away. I was just having too much fun!
3 tips that you would give to all our future brides
1. Try on different styles! I went in thinking I knew exactly what dress I wanted, but when I tried it on, it didn’t feel right. Exploring different silhouettes really helped me find "the one".

2. Take lots of pictures and videos in different dresses! It’s surprising how different a dress can look on camera compared to how it feels in person. For me, being able to move and dance comfortably was
a non-negotiable

3. Trust your instincts. If a dress makes you feel beautiful and confident, it’s the right one. I also highly recommend sharing the bridal shopping process with your mom. I trust her fashion sense so much, and it was such a joy surprising my bridesmaids on the morning of the wedding
What was your wedding theme?
I would call it an “English Garden” theme, since my husband is English and I adore English garden flowers and greenery. The theme was all about celebrating the natural beauty of flowers, greenery, and creating a romantic, whimsical atmosphere.

Alena gown radiates timeless romance with its delicate all-over delicately beaded guipure floral lace, gracefully sculpted to hug the body. The high neckline and long sleeves exude elegance and refinement, creating a balance between modern sophistication and classic charm. A soft, subtle train extends behind, adding an ethereal touch as you walk. Perfect for the bride who seeks understated beauty and an unforgettable silhouette, this dress is a celebration of grace, style, and individuality
