BRIDEOFTHEWEEK: Hailey O’Mara

Intimate large crazy coastal botanical wedding

Presenting Our #MZBride Spotlight: There are moments in every wedding that take your breath away, and our stunning bride Hailey certainly knew how to create that magic! She chose mesmerising Suma gown—a square corset, A-line masterpiece adorned with delicate grand floral elements throughout.

What made Hailey truly unforgettable was her attention to detail with her accessories. She didn’t stop at the gown; she wore matching bridal pieces that effortlessly tied her entire look together! The carefully chosen accessories elevated her style, making her feel like the ultimate version of herself!

In the following interview, Hailey shares with us how she started planning her wedding journey and will give you her exclusive tips!
How did you start planning your wedding? What were the first steps?

Our first step was finding the right venue. We wanted to have our wedding somewhere intimate and familiar to us that felt like home, but also somewhere “destination” that was still convenient for majority of our guests. We always knew Avalon, NJ would be that place for us! We have grown up spending summers there alongside friends and family, so planning a wedding weekend rooted in our nostalgic stomping grounds felt so natural. We easily narrowed down venue options, we lucked out in that our first choice checked every box for us - outdoor + tented, accommodates 300+, outstanding service, and gorgeous grounds.
How did you know your dress was 'the one’?

Ok, this is a bit of a lengthy story… About eight months prior to my wedding date, I first saw the Suma dress via Instagram on a model walking down the runway during bridal fashion week. I immediately knew – this was going to be the dress I wore on my wedding day. I tracked down wedding boutiques in my area that carried Mira, and landed upon Elizabeth John Bridal in Ardmore, PA.  I urgently booked my first bridal appointment there where I tried on a plethora of beautiful Mira dresses, but none excited me the way the Suma gown did. Since it was JUST debuted for fashion week, it wasn’t available yet anywhere. I was told there likely wouldn’t be a way to move forward with this dress since Mira dresses are all specifically handmade and tailored to each bride, therefore taking a bit longer to produce (..and I was already behind schedule in my dress process!). I was very persistent and the Elizabeth Johns team was beyond accommodating, and after some arranging of logistics, they were able to get a sample to be temporarily sent from Israel so I could try it on! It was everything I hoped for and more- whimsical yet elegant, unique yet classic, and relaxed yet sophisticated! It felt like a second skin and the rest is history!

How did you find working with the bridal store team?
As I mentioned above, they couldn’t have been more accommodating! My stylist, Marina, did everything possible to get the sample in house and then get the measurements out and the dress made expediently. My alternation specialist, Sarah, was an absolute magician and ensured the intricacy of the sleeves on the Suma dress (+ my indecisiveness on the bustle) were tailored to perfection!
Advices that you would give to our future brides?
1. Go after what’s in your heart and don’t give up! The wedding details that you know will mean the most to you (in my case - my dress) are worth fighting for!

2. Wedding planning can be so stressful: find the joy in planning with your partner and find unique ways/ activities to check off your to-do boxes. I appreciated the small things: evening picnics together where we squabbled over the seating chart!

3. When the day comes, stay present in your moment! At that point, let whoever your “team” may be take care of the outstanding details and iron out any logistics. Easier said than done, but try to go into the day with little expectations- you will be more surprised and grateful if you don’t already have it all planned out in your head.
