How did you start planning your wedding? What were the first steps?
My husband and I knew we wanted to get married in Italy. Our first trip together was in Italy, he proposed in Lake Como and both our fathers were born there, so it just made sense for us. It just felt like the perfect destination. We then started contacting different venues that checked off all the boxes but also accommodated our guests for an extended period as we wanted the wedding celebrations to last more than just the one day. We then found our planner Rossana from 'The Knot in Italy' which we couldn't have done this without and then the planning officially began!
How did you know your dress was 'the one’?
The Karlee was actually the first wedding dress I ever tried on. Nothing else could possibly compare to how that dress made me feel. At first, I didn’t know if it was because it was the first time I saw myself in a wedding dress but after trying on a few other dresses and visiting different boutiques, I couldn’t find anything else that came close.
How did you find working with the bridal store team?
The team at Boca Raton Bridal were incredibly helpful. As I travelled from Toronto for the dress, they made me feel so valued, special and beautiful. From accommodating my schedule to visit Florida to even showing me how to pack my dress when travelling, this team went above and beyond.Â
Advices that you would give to our future brides?
1. Enjoy the process and all the planning that comes with it
2. You'll be receiving a ton of opinions and suggestions from your loved ones but don't forget that this day is about you and your partner. Don't lose sight of what YOU want out of this day!
3. As perfect as you plan the day to go, inevitably, there will be hiccups that happen. Just remember to embrace and enjoy the day as you're surrounded by all your family and close friends who love you and are happy to celebrate such a special milestone.
