Argentina Forrest Wedding
Our #MZBride of the week is the lovely Bryn Kelley who got married in our Sia gown . Surrounded by their beloved family and friends the couple held their intimate wedding in the forrest of poplar trees in Patagonia, a place Bryn has dreamed over 13 years ago! In the following interview, Bryn shares with us how she started planning her wedding journey and will give you exclusive tips!
How did you start planning your wedding? What were the first steps?
We got married in a forrest of poplar trees in Patagonia. When I first saw the forest, over 13 years ago!, I decided I wanted to get married there. I didn’t have the groom part figured out at that time, ha, but I’ve always known I wanted to get married there, so the planning just sort of fell into place around that. We got engaged in April of 2021, and married in March of 2022. I think by June of 2021 I had already lined up all of our major vendors…#bridezilla?! haha.
How did you know your dress was 'the one’?
Even though I always knew where I wanted to get married, I could never imagine what my dress would look like. It was super helpful, and also a lot of fun, to go into my bridal appointments with a super open mind. I think I probably tried on 50 dresses! I was immediately drawn to all of the Mira gowns; I loved the flower detailing that so many of them featured. The team at Little White Dress Denver was also super helpful. When I first tried the Sia on I just felt so comfortable. I loved the slit in the leg, and the top in particular was stunning. I felt just like myself in the dress.
What advice would you give to all our future brides?
The weeks leading up to the wedding were super stressful, and I think that that is probably sort of unavoidable, but following advice I had been given, I really tried to get as much done in advance as possible so that those few days before the big event I could spend time with friends and family. I would highly recommend doing the same! It was truly all so special, and we felt particularly grateful because so many of our friends and family travelled from the states to be with us in Patagonia. I would also suggest practicing walking around in your dress and shoes before hand as much as possible - I didn’t do this and though the Sia gown is stunning, I ended up having to tie it in a few little bunches once on the dance floor because I (and everyone else!) kept tripping on it! One small bustle was not enough. Standing stagnant in front of the mirror at your seamstress is very different from bouncing around on the dance floor or walking through a forrest! I also changed into cowboy boots after the ceremony and was so glad to have comfortable shoes on for the rest of the night! Would definitely recommend!
What was your wedding theme?
We didn’t really have a ‘theme,’ but were more so trying to highlight the natural beauty around us! Think gaucho formal, I guess! I’m from Colorado and my husband, Nico, is from Argentina, so we tried to bring our two cultures together as seamlessly as possible. We made two large buffalo cutouts as an homage to my western roots, and our guests ate a traditional argentina asado for dinner! More than anything, we wanted to celebrate our love and the opportunity to safely be together with all of our nearest and dearest after these past unsettling years. We feel so lucky!
